THE MARVELUS PRODUCTION COMPANY

Jog Scotland's Alastair Currie recently appointed MPL, to manage the logistics, infrastructure delivery, event planning and production, for the recreational running arm of Scottish Athletics.

The Jog Scotland 5k Challenge Series, for new entrants to the sport, visits: Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Borders, between the 9th and 30th of June.

MPL will be utilising a variety of formats dependent upon the scale and scope of each event, including their Air Dome, Road Show Truck, inflatable gantries, a range of tented structures and sound systems.

The brief also includes the production of event manuals, risk assessments, method statements and section 89 applications, for Building Control, where appropriate.

Marvelus kicked off a hectic summer events programme at North Ayrshire's Eglinton Country Park, with the production of Park Live. Promoted by Zap Entertainment’s Dougie Jackson, on behalf of North Ayrshire Council, the event is in its sixth year (Marvelus having serviced the last 4).

MPL developed a new stage format for the event, deploying their Air Dome inflatable stage, on to the back of an articulated trailer, which was then dressed and branded.

Build time was reduced from a day and a half to 5 hours and derig, even shorter at 2.5 hours. Have a look at our time lapse photography of the stage build by clicking here.

Eight piece show band, Vern and the Shooters, headlined on Saturday and the MacDonald Brothers, topped the bill on the Sunday. Have a look at our time lapse photography of the stage build by clicking here.

On the stage On the stage

Marvelus enjoyed a busy festive period, producing fourteen consecutive Christmas Lights Switch On's, for local authorities across Scotland. Events featured high profile artists, the MacDonald Brothers, who rose to prominence on ITV's 'The X-Factor'.

Each of the events involved the deployment of our Road Show Truck, complete with sound and lighting systems to suit the size of the audience, and its' own independent power source, in a high street situation. This created a high impact 'entertainment showcase', in the build up to the lights switch on and provided a highly effective opportunity for community engagement.

All events were well supported and brought together talent from independent local radio stations, in particular Real Radio, and a powerful combination of street entertainers and well-known artists. Events included: Lanark, Falkirk, Grangemouth, Bo'ness, Alloa, East Kilbride, Hamilton and Cambuslang. Repeat bookings are already strong for next year.
